The BodyGem and MedGem mouthpiece filters feature a bite-wing design, ensuring a secure seal while allowing patients to relax and swallow comfortably during measurement.
​In contrast, other indirect calorimeters use oval mouthpieces, which can make it difficult for patients to maintain a proper seal and may impede swallowing, potentially leading to discomfort and drooling.
Microlife BodyGem and MedGem mouthpieces feature 3M Filtrete medical-grade material. A new mouthpiece filter and nose clip should be used for every measurement to ensure optimal sanitation and prevent damage to the MedGem or BodyGem device.
